Paving Block Ramah Lingkungan dengan Tambahan Serbuk Bubut dan Agregat Seragam
ABSTRACT
Paving block is a building material made from a mixture of cement, coarse aggregate and water. Paving blocks are widely used in the construction sector, such as sidewalks, highways, parking lots, parks and so on. Ease of installation, inexpensive maintenance and fulfilling the aesthetic aspect will result in paving blocks being preferred. Along with the increasing use of paving blocks in the community, the use of materials such as cement and sand is also increasing. Sand is a building material that is widely used in construction. Excessive use of sand will cause environmental damage. Aggregate is a component of concrete that has the most role in determining its size. Lathe iron waste is the result of iron flakes produced by a lathe that produces flakes of either metal, brass, iron or steel, iron lathe waste is very easy to find in lathe workshops throughout Indonesia. usually after the work is finished then the lathe waste will be thrown away. In addition, the increase in the amount of waste generated by industrial construction and other industries also increases every year, this will have a negative impact on health and the environment if there is a buildup of waste and waste that cannot be treated properly. Therefore, we innovated the use of lathe waste as a mixture to add fine aggregate to Paving blocks, where researchers used lathe waste as a fine additive which is mostly produced by the construction industry or others. The use of this lathe waste is one of the efforts made to maintain the existing ecosystem. Lathe waste that does not receive proper processing will certainly have an impact on the surrounding environment. From the problems that arise, both waste and health problems and others, therefore waste is the right material for materials in this research to make Paving blocks. Aggregate for concrete is hard mineral grains whose shape is close to the grain size between 0.063 mm - 150 mm. Aggregates according to their origin can be divided into two, namely natural aggregates obtained from rivers and artificial aggregates obtained from crushed stone.
