Analisa Perbaikan Tanah Pada Pembangunan Jalan Tol Padang-Sicincin, Sumatera Barat dengan Metode Perloading Kombinasi Prefabricated Vertical Drain

Albert Gusti Marsiamto - Nama Orang;

ABSTRACT

The condition of the soil work is often a problem in a building construction work, especially in the construction of toll roads. To improve the properties of soil, it can be achieved by several ways of improving the soil, including compacting the soil, adjusting the gradation, and so on. Several kinds of soil improvement methods by means of consolidation are the Preloading Method, the Pre-fabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) combination Preloading Method, and the Vacuum Consolidation System Method. Preloading method combined with Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD). Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) serves as a tool to speed up soil consolidation time by accelerating the release of water in soft soil. The purpose of this study was to plan the PVD pattern on soil improvement using the Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) combination preloading method at a predetermined time and to analyze soil improvement using the combined preloading method. In the Padang - Sicincin Toll Road construction project area, especially in STA 7+500 – 8+500, this is an area that has a soft clay type of subgrade. With the soft soil condition, it is necessary to improve the soft soil at the Padang - Sicincin Toll Road project site. In this study, the soil improvement used was the Preloading method combined with Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD). The results showed that the natural settlement time needed to reach the 90% consolidation degree was 18,62 years. Meanwhile, the settlement time required to achieve a degree of consolidation of 90% by using preloading embankment plus Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) with a triangular pattern and a distance of 1.3 m is ± 3.9 months. Thus, the use of PVD with preloading embankment on the Padang – Sicincin Toll Road Development Project can be ± 219 months faster than using only preloading embankment.

Keywords : Prefabricated Vertical Drain, Soil Consolidation, Preloading.
